I am a first timer, planning a trip to Panama and Costa Rica. I would like to enter Costa Rica via Paso Canoas and was wondering about both private and public transportation to the border from David. I get mixed messages about bus schedules from David Terminal. One site says only 1 bus per day, while another site says busses go on the hour. Does anyone have any experience as to what a party of 6 adults need to know before traveling? We would each be carrying a suitcase. Is this allowed on busses? Can the tickets be ordered the night before, or should arraignments be made beforehand. We will be traveling during the Christmas/New Years holiday. Thank you.
Boquete to David:
The bus here runs quite frequently throughout the day and costs 1,75$. It takes around 1,5h to get to David.
David to Panama City:
The Terminal is called „Terminal de Autobuses David“ (https://maps.app.goo.gl/eJrL1YprwVXURQYv9?g_st=ic) and there you have to look for the sign „Panama“ it is at the very end (the signs are red and at the ceiling). You can buy your ticket there. The company is called TDP. The normal bus takes 7-9h and the express one takes 6h and will end at the Albrook Terminal in Panama City.
The time schedule for the normal bus is:
– 6:15 am
– 7:30 am
– 8:45 am
– 10:00 am
– 11:15 an
– 12:45 pm
– 2:15 pm
– 4:15 pm
– 6:00 pm
– 8:00 pm
—> costs 15,25$
And the express bus runs at:
– 9:45 pm
– 10:45 pm
– 11:30 pm
—> costs 18,15$
They added a 1:30 am express however all other times and prices are the same as you listed as of today 10/03/2024.
I will be staying in El Valle de Anton at teh end of February 2023 and traveling onward to Boquete by bus.
It is preferable to return to Las Uvas to get a westbound bus? Or should I taxi to Churuquita Chiquita and grab the bus for Penonome’, then, take a bus to David from there?
This is my first stay in Panama, so I am a rookie. I appreciate anyone’s two cents. Thank you.
David to Santiago : 3 hours and the price is 9$.
We traveled from David to Boquete.
Buses every 20-30 minutes, costed us 2$ and the trip lasted 1h20 minutes.
can confirm in july 2022
Hello,
I am travelling from David to Paso Canoas (Border) by Bus. Are there different buses running? How can I get a timetable?
Thank you very much for any help!
Emanuel
You mention the express (night bus) can be reserved in advance. How do I do that? What site do I go to? I want to travel from David to Allbrook during the night. Is it faster than 8 hours? Does it stop in Santiago? Thank you so much!
